A grown up bedroom makeover for a growing boy!

My youngest boy is turning 8 next month so I thought it was time to give his bedroom a facelift. He was sleeping in bunk beds and had an old Pirate duvet set on his bed. He reminded me sternly that he is now too old for Pirates and wants something more grown up like his two older brothers. So I got to work and started by painting a feature wall in a deep red colour .I contrasted the other walls in a very pale grey . I dismantled his white bunkbeds and converted it into a single bed . It has a truckle bed underneath so he can still have a friend over for a sleepover! Finally I chose our classic McKenzie quilt and sham that I never tire of, coordinated with a red gingham duvet and star cushions. The finishing touch is our new boys stripe rug which we will have in our new Spring /Summer range next year. Result ? A very happy grown up little boy:)
