The Babyface Story
Babyface Designs Ltd was founded in 2003, when sisters Aileen Mitchell and Grainne Roche, both mums, recognised a gap in the children’s interior market. They had a vision to design their own brand of high quality, stylish, children’s soft furnishings. Aileen and Grainne began sourcing factories in India to produce their designs and promoted their products at consumer and trade fairs, whilst running their own PR campaigns and building the website. Positive feedback they received from the trade and the public gave them the confidence to develop the collection further and the Babyface brand evolved.
Grainne, the creative director, takes inspiration from the latest trends in children’s themes and textiles. Her signature bold colours and attention grabbing style brings a refreshing look to this market. Babyface offers the whole solution of soft furnishings in a child’s bedroom, with products ranging from bedding to curtains, luxurious rugs to personalised gifts and appeals to the discerning parent for its style, quality and affordability.
The website and brochure offer trade customers inspired ideas to create a dream space for a child, with tips and ideas on how to co ordinate the ranges. Babyface products retail through the website www.babyface.uk.com and wholesale through some prestigious customers including, Bentalls, Fenwicks, John Lewis, Aspace, Luvponies as well as various independent retailers throughout the U.K and Europe. Now almost 10 years down the line, the company continues to grow and expand, with the aim to be the most influential design house in the children’s interiors market.
